Lawmakers: Protect NV Seniors’ Access to Care

For those spending their golden years in the Silver State, long term care communities provide essential care. But chronically low Medicaid rates put access to that care – and the seniors who need it – at risk.

The Issue

Medicaid rates for Nevada’s nursing facilities are some of the lowest in the country – and they have only had two Medicaid rate increases in the past 20 years.

The Risk

Other states have set the precedent: low Medicaid rates could result in longer wait times for seniors when it comes to getting the care they need – and bottlenecks in already overwhelmed hospitals.

The Solution

The time to act is now. We must prioritize Medicaid increases for Nevada’s nursing facilities to protect access to care and provide residents with the care they deserve in their golden years.
